The First Annual Riverwalk Chalkwalk Festival

The Riverwalk Chalkwalk is a day-long of creativity and positive community energy, culminating in over the sidewalk space at the beautiful Miller Point Park, displaying amazing chalk art. This event is hosted on the Riverwalk along the Fox River.
Riverwalk Chalkwalk is hosted by the City Of McHenry and The Riverwalk Foundation, and it’s a free art festival with tons of family-friendly fun!

- Located at Miller Point Park
- Face painting, Bouncy Houses, Food Trucks, Live Music from 1pm-4pm
Chalk Artist Participants:
- Open to age groups 12-17 and 18 and up
- Fee $35
- Artists must register. Deadline is September 14th, 2025
- Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place entries
- There will be a separate area to chalk for ages under 12 no registration required, and sidewalk chalk provided
Rules
Rain or shine event. If canceled due to the weather, money will be refunded.

Artists check in time at 8am and must be done by 4pm
Artwork must be appropriate for public viewing. N0 nudes, advertising, business, school, or political logos, or political statements/symbols of any kind are permitted.
Each artist will receive a 48 piece pastel set, this is the only medium to be used.
NO oil pastels, acrylic paints, spray fixatives, glitter, chemicals, or painting mediums are allowed (except water). You may swap colors with other artists.
You do not have to fill your entire space
Spaces are 4×4 and are first come first serve
Judging will start at 4:00pm
