The Riverwalk Chalkwalk is a day filled with creativity, color, and community at beautiful Miller Point Park. Watch talented chalk artists transform the pavement into stunning works of art while local artists showcase their skills through live demonstrations throughout the day.
Riverwalk Chalkwalk is a free art festival featuring family-friendly activities, interactive art experiences, and plenty of inspiration for all ages!
We’re also looking for vendors who can also do live art demonstrations. If interested, please email mchenryriverwalk@gmail.com.
The Details:
- Sunday, August 30th, 2026

- Located at Miller Point Park
- Face painting, Food Trucks, Live Art Demos
- 4 Strings Attached performs 11:30 am – 1:00pm
Chalk Artist Participants:
- Open to age groups 12-17 and 18 and up
- Fee $35
- Artists must register. Deadline is August 15, 2026
- Cash prizes awarded
- There will be a separate area to chalk for ages under 12 no registration required, and sidewalk chalk provided
Rules
- Rain or shine event. If canceled due to the weather, money will be refunded.
- Artists must register. Deadline is August 15th, 2026
- Artists check in time at 8am and must be done by 3:30pm
- Artwork must be appropriate for public viewing. NO nudes, advertising, business, school, or political logos, or political statements/symbols of any kind are permitted.
- Each artist will receive a 48 piece pastel set, this is the only medium to be used.
- NO oil pastels, acrylic paints, spray fixatives, glitter, chemicals, or painting mediums are allowed (except water). You may swap colors with other artists.
- Spaces are approximately 4×8 ft. You do not have to fill your entire space, but artwork must be at least 4x4ft.
- Spaces are first come, first served.
- Judging will start at 3:30pm.
Prizes Awarded for:
- People’s choice
- Best creative design
- Best use of color
18 and up – winners receive $100 per category
12-17 – winners receive $50 per category
